These are trying times for our animal friends. Many dogs are fortunate enough to have a spot in the shelter; those who are fortunate enough to have happy endings are very fortunate.

The finest illustrations of that are the countless depressing tales of dogs abandoned on the streets to fend for themselves. However, the tragic tale of the young dog discovered in the woods today is on a whole new level.

Because of his tough situation, this poor human was counting down the minutes to his final moments and had already started to lose hope that he would ever experience true love again.

But just when he believed that all was finished and that he had passed the rainbow bridge, benevolent spirits showed up and offered him another chance.

Heartbreaking Condition

The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County rescuers were devastated to discover Timber, a Labrador Retriever, in such terrible shape when they discovered him in a wooden Eatonville area in Washington State.

This eight-month-old dog was discovered on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, according to their Facebook post. He was in such bad shape when he was discovered that he was unable to move.

They took him from Eatonville, Washington, to their animal sanctuary in Tacoma, Washington, right away due to the seriousness of his condition. Their veterinary team took him over there.

Newsweek was informed by Laura Green, the shelter’s marketing coordinator, that Timber “had sunken eyes, lethargy, severe dehydration, and an elevated heart rate.”

According to Green, “immediate medical intervention is required once the dog becomes infected in order to give it a fighting chance against the disease.” “Timber entered our care at the ideal moment to start therapy and get well.”

It was undoubtedly one of the best days ever at this Tacoma, Washington, shelter. That being said, this dog still has a long road to recovery ahead of him, even though it is vital that his life was spared.

According to Green, Timber may have left the forest, but he is still in the woods. “He has remained cooperative and has exhibited a gentle demeanor throughout his treatments, despite the lengthy road ahead.”

Fortunately, Timber’s foster family was found by the shelter staff. A foster home may offer a dog the love and care he needs, and that is exactly what a foster home can offer, at least temporarily.

This is particularly crucial for a dog like Timber, who needs a caring person to heal the wounds on his psyche in addition to his physical illness.

Therefore, we anticipate that “forever” will soon take the place of the word “foster.” It would genuinely be the greatest recompense for what this dog had endured and for the folks who had rescued him from the shadows of the forest.
